As the new NFL season approaches, five-time Pro Bowl left tackle Terron Armstead has made the decision to retire and walk away from football.
Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that Dolphins LT Terron Armstead has officially announced his retirement from the NFL after an illustrious 12-year career. Armstead, who spent nine seasons with the New Orleans Saints and three with the Miami Dolphins, made his decision public during a special event in Miami.
Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel had already mentioned that the team expected Terron Armstead to retire this offseason, so his announcement didn’t come as a surprise.

He still had a contract through 2026, but the Dolphins may wait until after June 1 to process his retirement. This would split the cap charge between two seasons, with $7.316 million applied this year and $10.732 million in 2026.
Terron Armstead played 15 games for the Dolphins in 2024, and now the team will need to find a new left tackle. Patrick Paul, a second-round pick from 2024, could be a good option for the Dolphins to consider.
