The law enforcement agency slapped Cincinnati Bengals running back Joe Mixon after an arrest warrant was issued for him on Thursday.
On January 21, the day before the Bengals’ NFL divisional round game, the RB allegedly aimed a firearm at the victim and threatened to shoot her in the face, and the police wouldn’t hold him accountable. After the victim filed a lawsuit on account of aggravating menacing, the police issued the warrant.

However, the warrant had been dismissed by the court at the request of the prosecution’s office. They also requested to drop the charges, which the court denied.
Why was Joe Mixon’s warrant dropped but not the charges?
The Municipal Court Presiding Judge Curt Kissinger of Hamilton County signed the motion for dismissal on Friday, saying, “I will sign the entry of dismissal. And the warrant will be recalled subject to a further filing by the City of Cincinnati.”
“I will only dismiss the charges once I am sure the alleged victim in the case had been notified,” Judge Kissinger explained his ruling.
On the other hand, the prosecution office said, “We need additional investigation before we can move forward with this case.” It opened the possibility of the case being reopened.
If the charges are proven to be true, Joe could face up to 180 days in prison, putting the Bengals in an awkward position. The franchise released a statement regarding the 26-year-old’s alleged crime.

However, Mixon’s agent was pretty confident of his client’s innocence, and blamed the police: “I really feel the police have an obligation before they file charges – because of the damage that can be done to the person’s reputation – to do their work. They should be held to a higher standard because I don’t play with people’s lives.”
