The South American duo had a successful spell together at their former club, FC Barcelona. They became teammates once again after Messi joined PSG following failed contract negotiations with Barcelona.
Their time at PSG hasn’t been as sweet as it was in Barcelona, though. Neymar has been susceptible to long injuries throughout his career, and Messi hasn’t been able to find his magical touch during his two seasons with the Parisians.
The seven time Ballon d’Or winner’s contract with PSG is set to expire next month. Although there have been talks of a possible contract extension, recent developments suggest that it is very unlikely to take place.
The 35-year-old Argentinian has been booed by home fans on two separate occasions now. On top of that, Messi has now been banned from PSG for two weeks after the 2022 World Cup winner made an unauthorized trip to Saudi Arabia. Finally, fans have protested against Leo, calling him names in front of the PSG headquarters.
Neymar Jr. has been linked with multiple Premier League clubs, including the likes of Manchester United and Chelsea. The prolific Brazilian winger has been sidelined for quite some time now after sustaining an injury in a match against LOSC Lille.
Throughout his PSG career, Neymar has been out of action on a frequent basis due to injury problems. Yesterday, PSG fans were seen protesting out of Neymar’s house, demanding the 31-year-old “get out” of PSG.
Neymar’s current contract with PSG is valid until 2027. However, according to journalist Andres Onrubia, PSG will look to cash out on the Brazilian superstar in the upcoming summer transfer window.

With Leo Messi seemingly not willing to stay, and the uncertainty of Kylian Mbappe‘s future, it is shocking to see that the Parisians are willing to let another superstar go as well. There are not many clubs in the world that can meet the wage demands of the 31-year-old.
Which club do you think we might see the superstar play in next?
