PSG President Nasser Al Khelaifi Sends Stern Warning to Kylian Mbappe: “No One is Bigger than the Club”

Kylian Mbappe is often considered one of the best players in the world at the moment. The Paris-born forward has pretty consistently maintained his goal-scoring form for the past four seasons. His performances at the 2022 World Cup earned him widespread praise from football fans and pundits.

His meteoric rise to the top of the game has seen him become a Ballon d’Or contender at a very young age. The PSG forward became a World Cup winner at 19 when he lifted the trophy with France after helping them beat Croatia in the final. Mbappe hasn’t left the spotlight since then.

After toying with Real Madrid and Florentino Perez throughout last summer to bring him to the Bernabeu on a free transfer, Mbappe ended up signing a new contract at PSG for two years, with an option to extend it by another year.

PSG President on Kylian Mbappe Situation

PSG received a letter from Kylian Mbappe’s camp that he would not be triggering his extension clause, which would have seen him stay beyond next summer. This was a huge blow for the Ligue 1 giants, as they’re now forced to sell the Frenchman this summer or lose him for free in the summer of 2024.

Mbappe has insisted he wants to stay at PSG beyond this summer. He claims he’ll turn out for the Parisiens next season, which only means he intends to leave for free next summer, something PSG will likely never do.

It’s not clear yet what the Frenchman is trying to do. Does he want another bumper contract at PSG? Does he want to leave for free to negotiate a huge signing-on bonus with Real Madrid? PSG President Nasser Al Khelaifi says the latter is not an option.

The PSG star has been given an ultimatum to decide his future move in the next two weeks, “Kylian Mbappe has to decide next week or in the next two weeks. No more than this. The door is open if he does not want to sign a new contract. No one is bigger than the club. No player, not even me. It’s very clear,” Al Khelaifi told Le Parisien.

Kylian Mbappe to Real Madrid Rumors

Madrid has often been considered an ideal destination for Kylian Mbappe. He dreamed of playing for the Spanish giants as a kid, whose idol was Cristiano Ronaldo, and it seems to only be a matter of time before he gets his wishes. Real Madrid is reportedly preparing a huge offer for PSG and the Frenchman to bring his service to the Santiago Bernabeu.

Seba Varela del Río on Twitter: ""Mis amigo y yo no esperábamos ser futbolistas. No era nuestro plan. Lo soñábamos. Es la diferencia. Algunos niños tienen posters de superhéroes en su habitación.

With the unexpected departure of Karim Benzema, Real Madrid needs a new striker to fill the gap, and there aren’t many better candidates to replace the current Ballon d’Or winner than Kylian Mbappe.
