Rasmus Hojlund defends Manchester United teammate by labelling him a “World Class” player despite a slow start to the season.

Manchester United is not having a good time in the UEFA Champions League. The Red Devils have lost both of their UCL Group Stage matches, putting them at the bottom of their respective groups. Marcus Rashford’s performance has not been at its best, and the English international is getting a lot of criticism for that.

Amidst the catastrophe, Red Devils fans are taking out their anger on the players, and Marcus Rashford is the latest to come under the firing line. However, United’s latest attacking acquisition Rasmus Hojlund is there to back up his teammate.

Rasmus Hojlund claps back at Marcus Rashford’s haters

Marcus Rashford is one of the best players at Manchester United. The 25-year-old was an absolute beast, but his performance this season has not been so good. This drop in performance has caused the fan to criticize the English international, lowering his confidence and creating self-doubt.

Thankfully, Rashford has some real friends in his team who will always be by his side. 20-year-old Rasmus Hojlund has come forward to support his teammate, calling him a “world-class” player. The young striker talked to the press about Marcus Syaing: “I really like playing with him. He’s a world-class footballer.” The striker also said that he thinks of Rashford as an idol. “He is a player I have looked up to, even though he is only a few years older than me,” he said.

Marcus Rashford’s poor start to the season

Marcus Rashford has not made much of an impact in any of his Premier League games. Manchester United is currently in tenth place on the league table with only 12 points in their bag. Rashford has made eight appearances and played a total of 673 minutes in the 2023–24 Premier League. Yet, the player only has one goal and one assist to his name.

Rashford’s performance has been unsatisfactory not only in the Premier League but in the UEFA Champions League as well. The winger was part of the starting lineup in both UCL games. He managed to get an assist in both of his Champions League matches, but still, the club faced a 4-3 defeat against Bayern Munich and lost 3-2 against Galatasaray.

Rasmus Hojlund has defended his friend for now, but Marcus Rashford needs to step up his game as soon as he can.
