The Baltimore Ravens fans are eagerly speculating about the possibility of a trade to bring the Arizona Cardinals star wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins to the franchise, following some cryptic messages from star quarterback Lamar Jackson and wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr.
The addition of Hopkins to the Ravens roster would probably result in a massive upgrade for the team as the five-time Pro Bowler proved his worth earlier by catching 853 passes for 11,298 yards and 71 touchdowns throughout 10 years of his NFL career.
Did Jackson and Beckham hint at the acquisition of DeAndre Hopkins by the Ravens?
The Ravens legendary QB Lamar Jackson tweeted a GIF of Spongebob Squarepants grinning with a happy emoji on Wednesday.

Baltimore’s new addition WR Odell Beckham Jr. joined the Twitter fun with a cryptic word “BOOOOKUMMM!!”

These tweets have set fans abuzz with excitement over the potential trade of Hopkins. These news came just after the rumors began to circulate suggesting the Arizona Cardinals star could be traded ahead of the NFL Draft. The Ravens team was reportedly in trade talks with the All-Pro wide receiver alongside the Buffalo Bills.
Jackson was slapped with a non-exclusive franchise tag by the Ravens and has not yet worked out a new deal with the franchise. However, the MVP-winning quarterback reportedly demanded both Beckham and Hopkins get enrolled in Baltimore to consider returning back to his own team.
The Ravens have already made one of these things happen by signing OBJ this off-season and a draft day move to acquire Hopkins could be another anticipated move to get their veteran QB back into the squad.
The biggest hindrance in the way of DHop landing in Baltimore is the salary cap as the team currently has less than $4 million in cap space as per Sports Illustrated and still has to sign their old member Lamar.
Hence, they can’t afford to consider Hopkins’ $30.75 million cap hit in 2023. However, the franchise can restructure their other deals and acquire the 30-year-old to retain his salary, albeit with some extra maneuvering.
Of course, it’s important to remember that Jackson and Beckham’s tweets are just cryptic messages, and they didn’t directly hint at a trade for Hopkins, however, Ravens fans are certainly excited at the prospect of adding such a talented player to their roster, and will be eagerly watching to see if anything develops in the coming days and weeks.
