Months after Karim Benzema’s transfer, Real Madrid star Toni Kroos expresses displeasure over Spanish youngster’s Saudi move

As of today, one wouldn’t be much surprised to wake up in the morning to the news of Real Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos’s shocking departure to the Saudi Pro League. Toni Kroos is very well within Real Madrid’s books, though. But such is the reality of what we are looking at.

Spanish League has always been among the top 5 leagues in Europe and hosts talented players worldwide every season. From the most dominant club in Europe, Real Madrid, to the most watched football rivalry on Earth, it is impossible to deny that LA Liga has incomparable assets.

Madrid star slams Gabri Veiga’s ’embarrassing’ decision to join Al Ahli

Toni Kroos, the German midfield maestro, has always been a player who frequently voices his take on football matters, especially when it frustrates him. His verbal bout with Aubameyang regarding the ex-Arsenal striker’s masked celebratory methods had previously called for a flurry of reactions from netizens across social media platforms.

This time, the Real Madrid veteran has come out to comment on Fabrizio Romano’s ‘Here we go’ post regarding Gabri Viega’s shocking transfer news.

The Celta Vigo midfielder has agreed personal terms with Al Ahli, and the clubs will officially confirm the deal as soon as possible. The player has been previously in talks with Napoli for weeks with Chelsea and Liverpool in his pursuit throughout the summer.

The Real Madrid players comment on Viega's transfer news.

Apparently, the Spanish youngster’s decision has been labelled as ‘embarrassing’ by the Real Madrid Legend, the 13th longest-serving player in the whole league.

Karim Benzema left Real Madrid to join Saudi Arabia’s Al Ittihad

When the Saudi Pro League transfer frenzy wave showed its head, one of the first names to leave the camp was the 2022 Ballon d’Or awardee Karim Benzema.

“I signed for Madrid, and I wanted to retire here, but it didn’t happen that way.”, he said in the farewell press conference.

Though Real Madrid offered a one-year extension deal to the French Striker, he had already confirmed talks with the Saudi club Al-Ittihad.  After a 14-year-long spell at Real Madrid, lifting 25 trophies and scoring the second-most number of goals for the club (354 goals), Karim Benzema left Spain.

Things seem bleak now as the Saudi League has just begun, and though the club has won its opening two games, reports already confirm that Benzema has fallen out of favour with the club’s coach, Nuno Espirito Santos. The former Real Madrid capitán has been denied the armband by the Tottenham ex-boss, and we hear that he never wanted Benzema in the first place. It would be disastrous if the player’s relationship with the club completely breaks down and he regrets his decision to leave Europe.
