Real Madrid bound Kylian Mbappe reportedly receives lucrative $1B “lifetime contract” at PSG

Kylian Mbappe is continuously making rounds in the rumor mill, with the French star linked with a move away from Paris Saint-Germain. The 24-year-old moved to PSG from Monaco for a reported $250 million fee and was termed as a generational talent. During his time in Paris, Kylian has been one of the world’s best players with 212 goals in just 260 games. The speedster has also won a FIFA World Cup with his national team France in 2018 and reached the tournament’s final in 2022.

Mbappe’s contract at PSG is ending in 2024, allowing the player to leave for free in June next year. Kylian’s departure from Paris for free will have grave monetary implications for the PSG hierarchy to handle. The world’s 3rd highest paid athlete, however, will make a decision based on his ambition. In his time at PSG, the elusive UEFA Champions League trophy has always evaded Kylian Mbappe. Although the forward has been one of the better-performing players in Europe’s premier club competition, PSG were not able to win the cup and break their curse.

PSG rumored to offer $1B 10-year contract to Kylian Mbappe

Kylian Mbappe recently announced that he will not be extending his contract with PSG by sending a letter to the club in June. After his letter, the club hierarchy, especially club President Nasser-El-Khelaifi was flabbergasted to even think of a potential situation that could see their star man leave for free. Mbappe in his letter stated, he will not exercise the one-year extension on his deal, which essentially means this transfer window is PSG’s only chance of cashing in and recouping a part of the mammoth fee they paid for the forward.

Kylian Mbappe admitted that he is open to staying at PSG for another season, and does not wish to leave the club currently. In contrast, the club management categorically iterated their decision to their number 10, “either extend your contract or leave now.” The most recent development in the story stems from the news that PSG ownership is ready to offer Kylian Mbappe a lifetime contract.

Paris Saint-Germain is owned by an investment fund managed by the country of Qatar. Due to huge capital availability, PSG has reportedly made Kylian Mabappe an irrefutable monetarily beneficial offer. The 10-year “lifetime contract” will see the star make over $1.2 billion over the course of his contract. Such a contract has never been offered in the world of football yet. Qatar’s Emir himself has given the green light on the deal. However, the credibility of the news is yet to be confirmed.

Will Kylian Mbappe snub Real Madrid move once again?

14-time Champions League winners Real Madrid is Kylian Mbappe’s dream destination. The Frenchman has several times admitted to his fanfare for the Los Blancos, especially because of it being Zinedine Zidane’s ex-club. Recently, Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti was questioned about a potential move for Kylian Mbappe, but the Italian refused to comment on another club’s player.

This is not the first time Kylian Mbappe is linked to a move to Spain’s capital. In, 2021, Kylian Mbappe was very close to joining Real Madrid after agreeing on a contract with the club’s president Florentino Perez. The Frenchman snubbed the club at the last moment by signing an extension with PSG, who bolstered the squad with Lionel Messi as well. After receiving such an alluring offer, it will be interesting to see whether Kylian will sub the frontrunners once again.
