The French superstar, Kylian Mbappe, has been on Real Madrid’s transfer radar since his breakout season with AS Monaco in 2017. Instead, he joined PSG, another French giant, to prepare himself before pursuing his dream of playing for Real Madrid
Despite strong reports of several attempts in the past two transfer windows, Kylian Mbappe chose to continue at the French capital. However, his possibility of joining Los Blancos seems closer than ever following revelations from the Real Madrid camp.
Real Madrid official links Bellingham and Mbappe
This summer, English sensation Jude Bellingham made a significant transfer deal to the Spanish giants and has emerged as Real Madrid’s best player this season, justifying the €103 million price tag. It’s now likely that Kylian Mbappe could follow in Bellingham’s footsteps to Madrid.
A Real Madrid board staff hinted that the long-awaited arrival of a French superstar to Real Madrid is in the cards. He had signed a new two-year extension to stay at PSG in 2022 but refused to extend it further this summer, suggesting he could make his exit next summer.
As per reports, Jose Manuel Otero revealed Kylian Mbappe was born to play for Real Madrid, just like Jude Bellingham as the glory awaits at Santiago Bernabeu for the Frenchmen.
The staff said, “To come he would have had to give up some very high bonuses that he had already agreed with Paris Saint-Germain. On top of that, he would have been transferred [for a fee]. The amount that would have had to be paid to have Mbappe a year earlier was crazy”.
“It didn’t make sense to sign Mbappe a year earlier even though there was a need in Karim Benzema’s position”, Manuel Otero revealed further.
It’s not only the board members but the Real Madrid players like Dani Carvajal and Joselu who have also unveiled that Mbappe had nearly joined the club this summer transfer window.
Madrid’s Joselu thought Kylian Mbappe transfer was a done deal
Real Madrid‘s Spanish striker Joselu, who recently moved to the La Liga giants from Espanyol on a season-long loan, has admitted that there were talks in the dressing room about the possibility of Mbappe’s arrival.
Joselu told, “Mbappé deal? There were moments when it seemed like he was very close, and then there were days when it seemed like he wasn’t going to come. In a locker room, you always talk about everything. There were moments when it seemed like he was going to come.”
Joselu made 11 appearances for Los Blancos and managed to find the back of the net 5 times and provided 2 assists in all competitions this season, as Carlo Ancelotti’s side sits on top of the La Liga table.
