Even though the general public regarded him as a basketball god, Michael Jordan tried out Golf for a bit. Similarly, Lando Norris tried out Baseball in one of the pitching nets in the London Stadium in case Formula One does not ever pan out.
Lando Norris has been part of the Mclaren racing team since 2019 and has seen many teammates come and go, including Carlos Sainz, Daniel Ricciardo etc. Having secured a record of 6 podiums till now, with his best finish being P2 in the Italian Grand Prix of the 2021 season.
McLaren driver tries his hand at baseball
As part of a promotional event, both the McLaren drivers Lando Norris and OscarPiastri took part in batting practice at London Stadium ahead of this weekend’s London Series. They showcased the Mclaren F1 car to the audience, and baseball players also batted a few shots in the nets.
Playful banter was also shared between the baseball players and the F1 drivers as they claimed they do the other’s sport with extreme ease and would not need any practice for years to do so.

Lando Norris’ underwhelming F1 season so far
Lando Norris has had an excruciating season so far, as he has not been consistent in securing points or podiums. Mclaren was a team competing for 3rd place just a few months ago, but they are barely making it into Q2’s and point place finishes.
This season’s disappointing performance may be due to the substandard car they debuted. Lando’s true potential was seen during the 2021 Russian GP when he performed exemplarily but lost out due to a strategic inaccuracy, like choosing to stay out during the rain.

Currently, Lando Norris is in eleventh place on the driver’s leaderboard with a saddening score of 12 points. His teammate is in fourteenth place on the leaderboard with only 5 points. These points and lack of excellent drives from both the drivers have put the Mclaren Mercedes racing team in sixth place with a mere 17 points.
Lando Norris’s contract expires in 2025 but there are rumours it might be terminated early as well.
The time has come for Lando Norris to return to his earlier form and deliver outstanding results, as he and the team desperately need it. This comes when Zak Brown, Mclaren F1 CEO, said, “Goals have been missed” when asked about Lando’s performance this season.
