Red Bull’s dismissal of female employee who accused Christian Horner of misconduct outraged F1 fans: “Scummy team”

Amidst the 2024 Bahrain Grand Prix, the ‘Christian Horner’ soap opera continued at the Red Bull camp, as he walked hand-in-hand with wife Geri Halliwell and walked out with a bust-up with Jos Verstappen. Fast forward to today; it’s another race week right before the Saudi Arabian GP and another episode of the ‘soap opera’.

However, in this week’s episode, Red Bull has just made sure it also stinks in some screentime, with its latest action.

Red Bull suspended female Christian Horner accuser

On Thursday (07/03/2024), news broke from within the Red Bull camp that the female employee, who accused Team Principal Christian Horner of ‘sexual misconduct’, was suspended this week with full pay. It is reported that she was present in the Red Bull premises on Monday, and shut out from Tuesday onwards.

Despite the news being common knowledge now, Red Bull hasn’t officially confirmed the suspension yet; this is crystal clear in a spokesperson’s statement from the Austrian company.

According to BBC Sport, a Red Bull spokesperson put forth a ‘no comment’ reply, when questioned on the news. “The company cannot comment on this internal matter,” the company representative told the British broadcaster.

“The reason given by Red Bull to the employee was that she had been dishonest,” as per the BBC.

Another report by The Times states that “the reason for her suspension was related to the findings of the inquiry.”

Both of these reports hint that the female employee was likely found guilty while Red Bull was ‘double-checking’ the ‘sexual texts’ that were leaked last week and suspended as a result of being dishonest.

Despite the exact details still being unconfirmed by Red Bull, the dismissal of the female employee has certainly brought out explosive reactions from the F1 fans.

The best comment has surely got to be this one, where a X-user expressed her disgust over Red Bull with a touch of sarcasm:

Christian Horner is currently with the Red Bull camp in Jeddah, as the team is gearing up for the Saudi Arabian GP on 9th March.

Has Red Bull made a really big mistake by suspending the female employee? Or has the female staffer been the real culprit all this time? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.
