Mexican driver, Sergio Perez had a commendable recovery drive at the British GP. Despite a P15 start, the Red Bull driver managed to overtake his way up for a P6 finish, gaining valuable points for the team and himself.
Delivering a consistent qualifying performance in the extremely competitive RB19 has been a challenge for Perez this season, and the British GP was no exception. After Valtteri Bottas’ disqualification, Perez was promoted to P15 on the starting grid. Sergio’s inconsistency has previously been pointed out by the Red Bull team, including teammate Max Verstappen, who recently gave the Mexican driver his opinions on the matter.

Max Verstappen has had a rocket start to his 2023 season, the 2-time world champion has gained a significant lead in the Drivers’ standings holding a 99-point lead. Further adding to the champion’s achievements, the driver would be leading the Constructors standings by 52 points if he were to form his own team. It is noteworthy that the 25-year-has achieved all this just 10 races into the 2023 season.

In an interview, when asked whether Red Bull is still in the fight for the championship after amassing a 51-point lead over Mercedes. Max Verstappen stated, “Of course, we are fighting for the team championship. Although I can do that on my own too.”

In reaction to the statement, F1 fans took to Twitter to share their opinions. A fan shared a meme comparing Max’s statement to the December 20, 2005, NBA game between the LA Lakers and Dallas Mavericks. During the match, NBA legend, Kobe Bryant and teammate Kwame Brown scored a total of 63 points. Bryant scored 62, and Brown 1 out of the 63 points

Another fan shared a video in which 2 different YouTubers are playing the F1 23 video game. However, the first YouTuber is casually overtaking other cars while singing, titled Max’s POV (Point of View), and the second YouTuber seems to struggle and sweat, titled Perez’s POV.
While some others supported Max’s statement, praising the young champion’s accomplishment of solely leading the Constructors title for his team.
