Red Bull notified last week that four-time world champion Sebastian Vettel has agreed to team up with Daniel Ricciardo at a special event at the famous Nordschleife in September without Max Verstappen.
This event is like a dream come true for all Vettel fans as they will see him in the infamous 2011 car where he won the championship. Daniel Ricciardo would also be driving in his favorite 2012 car. The Nordschleife is considered one of the world’s most challenging circuits, and every racer dreams of getting hands-on experience on this track.
Max Verstappen is barred from racing in a major event with legendary F1 drivers
Naturally, the two-time world champion did not hesitate and wanted to jump inside the car and participate in the event, but Helmut had other plans.
During a conversation between Verstappen and a reporter, Max said,
“I wanted to do it, but I was not allowed by Helmut! He knew that I would try and go to the limits! I would have loved to do it. I didn’t want to start unnecessary issues. It’s quite funny. After hearing this thing was coming up, Helmut was sitting at the table when it came up, and he said: ‘No, no, no, you’re not doing that!’ ”
When asked about the safety aspects of the circuit, Max Verstappen told the reporter, “Well, it’s also risky to drive here(Canadian GP); it just depends on how you hit the barrier”.
He also stated hope for the future: “Hopefully, one day. It would have been amazing in an F1 car, But if that’s not allowed, maybe in a GT3 car.”
Max Verstappen has won 70% of the last 30 Grand Prix
Dutch star has made it look extremely easy as over the past 30 races held counting this season, as well as the previous, Max Verstappen has secured a whopping 21 wins/30. That is almost around 70% of the last 30 grand prix conducted all over the world.
Some fans claim that things could have been better if it wasn’t for mechanical and strategic mishaps by the team Max is driving for.
“Last year, he won 15 races. If this season he wins 17 races, he’ll break the record of 75% win rate in a season. Who doubt he can do that?” tweeted one fan.
“And … The percentage would still be higher if not for the mechanical issues and some penalties because of the need to replace broken components….” tweeted another.
