The UFC is in a dire situation for the upcoming UFC Vegas 72 fight card after lightweight contender Renato Moicano had to withdraw from his scheduled main event bout against Arman Tsarukyan due to an injury. Following Moicano’s injury, the new main event matchup is to be decided.

There is a chance that Arman Tsarukyan might not feature on the card. Because the event is scheduled to take place on April 29th, the likelihood of Tsarukyan finding an opponent on short notice is very low. It is needless to say that Moicano suffering an injury at the last minute comes as a huge blow for the UFC as well as Arman Tsarukyan.
Owing to the fact, Tsarukyan was looking to extend his winning streak and rise through the lightweight rankings after his unanimous decision win over Damir Ismagulov in his last fight. His manager Daniel Rubenstein expressed his disappointment on Twitter and claimed that no one is ready to fight Tsarukyan on two weeks’ notice.
Death, taxes and nobody available to fight Arman on 2 weeks notice are the only certainties in my life right now. https://t.co/jqdOz0GlxB

With that being said, it wouldn’t be a huge surprise if the lightweight main event bout is scraped as it will be extremely difficult for the promotion to find two new fighters who can headline the UFC Vegas 72 fight card which will take place at the Apex on April 29th.
Full Fight card and possible replacements of Renato Moicano at UFC Vegas 72
There are a few possible replacement candidates who could step up to face Arman Tsarukyan in the main event and save the UFC Vegas 72 fight card. One of them is #13 lightweight contender Drew Dober. The UFC is trying to book Dober vs Frevola for the UFC 288 PPV that will take place on May 6th.
However, the promotion could ask the lightweight contender to save the UFC Vegas 72 card as they have not officially announced his fight against Frevola. Another possible replacement for Moicano could be Jalin Turner if he is ready to make a quick comeback inside the octagon as his last fight in March didn’t go according to his plans.
Both the fighters are exciting contenders and would provide a tough challenge to Arman Tsarukyan. Although it is up to them whether they want to take a big risk and compete against Tsarukyan on short notice.
