Richard Childress Racing, the 6-time Owner’s champion in the NASCAR Cup series, is currently enjoying a piping-hot run in the Xfinity series, a success that has been noticeably absent from their Cup series campaign. Meanwhile, the team’s Cup series crew, led by Austin Dillon and Kyle Busch, is experiencing a woeful season in their Cup series endeavors.
Despite their struggles in the Cup series, Richard Childress Racing has recently announced a multi-race partnership with Boot Born, with a special focus on Dillon.
Richard Childress Racing signs partnership with Boot Barn
Richard Childress Racing, which announced the partnership with Boot Barn back on 14th February, has revealed the broader details about this dynamic ‘team up’ that includes both primary and associate sponsorship on the No. 3 Boot Barn Chevrolet and unique content creation with driver Austin Dillon.
According to the press release from Richard Childress, Boot Barn has agreed to serve as a multi-race primary sponsorship partner of Austin Dillon and RCR’s No. 3 NASCAR Cup Series team this season. As part of this deal, Boot Barn will work closely with the RCR team to create engaging, strategic content, as well as seeing the No. 3 Boot Barn Chevrolet on the track.
Speaking about this partnership, RCR’s President Torrey Galida stated, “RCR and Boot Barn share an inspirational vision of supporting their local communities and those who feed America, build America and protect America. Our teams are looking forward to working together to highlight our shared values and showcase Boot Barn’s broad selection of cowboy boots and western wear to NASCAR fans.”
As part of the deal’s content campaigns, Austin Dillon, who admires Western lifestyle that is highly in-sync with Boot Barn’s customers, will be featured heavily in this dynamic partnership.
“It’s an honor to be able to represent Boot Barn, both on the track and in my day-to-day life. Boot Barn is a staunch supporter of the western lifestyle, and I’m looking forward to expanding our relationship while creating engaging content for fans,” said Dillon, expressing his excitement over this deal.
As per the report, the No.3 Boot Barn Chevrolet will make its NASCAR Cup debut on July 15th at Pocono Raceway, and will be driven by Dillon and Kyle Busch, who are heavily suffering on the tracks due to RCR’s present pit staff.
Richard Childress Racing unable to use the best pit crew
Richard Childress Racing, who are currently sitting at 16th in the Owner’s standings, are having a nightmare campaign in the 2024 NASCAR Cup series, mostly due to their ‘pit lane’ mishaps by the team’s staffs.
The RCR’S team drivers, with their Chevrolet Camaro ZL1, including Austin Dillon and the legendary Kyle Busch, are currently facing a significant drop in performance due to sluggish pit stops, as evidenced in their latest race at Bristol where they barely held onto the 24th and 25th spots.
Team RCR has been constantly reshuffling its pit stop members to address this issue and find the best pit crew combination. However, despite these speedy adjustments, the pit performance has remained poor and amateurish, impacting Kyle Busch’s run the most.
In their initial attempt, RCR shifted its jackmans between Daytona and Atlanta, but this adjustment had little to no effect on their poor performance. Similarly, in the most recent race at Bristol, they exchanged roles for their tire changers, with Shiloh Windsor moving to the rear and Michael Russell taking the front.
However, this role-changing maneuver also proved to be ineffective for RCR. It seems that Richard Childress Racing is struggling to figure out its best pit stop combination, a process that may take a while for the team.
For now, Austin Dillon and Kyle Busch, along with their mediocre pit crew, will take on the Circuit of the Americas track on March 25th at the EchoPark Automotive Grand Prix.
