Besides that Richard Sherman, the former football cornerback also shared that once Patrick Mahomes broke his heart. Sherman appeared in an interview and shared how four years ago the 27-year-old broke his heart.
Richard Sherman recalls when Patrick Mahomes ‘broke’ his heart
Richard Sherman played in Super Bowl LIV in 2019 with the Los Angeles Rams against the Kansas City Chiefs. He was very eager to win the coveted Super Bowl title. However, his dreams were shattered by Patrick Mahomes. The Rams lost the game to the Chiefs.
Four years have passed, and the Chiefs have even won another Super Bowl championship last year. But Richard Sherman couldn’t get over this loss. Recently, while talking about Super Bowl LIV, the former football cornerback shared that at that time the quarterback broke his heart.
“You had to show me clips of a Super Bowl that breaks my heart to this day, because that man gunned, seven minutes to go in the game we’re up 10, he went, I want to say 20 unanswered points.”

Sherman recalled how the Chiefs quarterback led the Chiefs to a comeback victory, scoring 20 unanswered points in the final seven minutes of the game. Despite the 49ers having a strong defense, the Chiefs’ offense prevailed.
If Mahomes wasn’t there then Sherman must’ve won that coveted title and he still has that regret. Richard Sherman was also a very talented cornerback, and he won a Super Bowl championship in 2013 with the Seattle Seahawks. But still, the loss to the Chiefs broke his heart and even after four years he can’t get over it.
Skip Bayless puts Joe Burrow over Patrick Mahomes
Skip Bayless, a sports commentator, expressed his view that Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow is better than Mahomes. Bayless argued that the quarterback’s tendency to make unorthodox throws can be a liability for the Chiefs.
“All this stuff. All this sidearm, between the legs, behind the bank [throws] – nobody would let him get away with it except Andy Reid,” Bayless said. “And it’ll often cost you because he’ll try anything at any time.”

Bayless claimed that Joe Burrow had beaten the Chiefs quarterback in their previous NFL encounters and praised Burrow’s accuracy as a passer.
“The first three times these two men went head-to-head in the National Football League, Burrow beat Mahomes. He outgunned him every time. But Joe Burrow is the deadly accurate thrower of the football.”
This claim is quite shocking. Although Joe Burrow is considered one of the most talented quarterbacks in the league, he has still not achieved the level of success Mahomes has. The Chiefs quarterback won two Super Bowl titles at a very young age and has impressive passing statistics since entering the league in 2017.
Although Patrick Mahomes has shown incredible performances there are still people who doubt his potential or aren’t even ready to acknowledge his success and talents. The Chiefs quarterback is currently busy preparing for his season opener against the Lions which is scheduled on September 7.
