The League of Legends team of 100 Thieves had an interesting incident recently. One of the members was fined for failing to comply with the tournament rules.
It took place in the spring split of LCS 2024, where 100T are competing with seven teams from the North American region to book a place in the Midseason Invitational. The fine was imposed on Rayan Shoura, a.k.a. ‘Sniper’, who joined 100 Thieves as a top laner last year. It might have come as a blessing for them, though, as it opened up the opportunity for a new partnership with a famous shoe brand.
100 Thieves League of Legends partners with Crocs
After the conclusion of their second match against Shopify Rebellion, the players greeted each other from both teams. That’s when Sniper was seen wearing the open-toe Crocs. This led to the authority imposing a $5000 fine on the 100 Thieves player. According to the tournament rules, players must wear closed-toe shoes and team-branded clothes to the event.
Right after, Crocs signed a partnership with 100 Thieves. According to a press release, the shoe brand will cover the fine imposed on Sniper and will remain a partner in their future endeavors. A giveaway was also announced where 10 pairs of the iconic Crocs will be gifted to fans of 100 Thieves.
A playful video was released featuring Summer and Sniper, where they argue the reason behind his success. We see a reference to the fine at the very end, where Summer says, ‘It’s definitely the Crocs’.
Later, the entire 100T League of Legends squad made an appearance sporting Crocs at the LCS 2024. This time they chose to wear a closed-toe variant to keep themselves in line with the rules of the tournament.
100 Thieves League of Legends current roster for LCS
The current 100 Thieves League of Legends roster features Rayan ‘Sniper’ Shoura as a top laner, Kim ‘River’ Dong-woo as Jungle, Lim ‘Quid’ Hyeon-Seung as mid, Brandon ‘Meech’ Choi, and Bill ‘Eyla’ Nguyen as a support.
They did pretty well at the LCS 2024 split until reaching the playoffs. They were placed second in the points table over the six weeks, aggregating a 10-4 record.
100 Thieves now have a second chance of reaching the finals after losing to Cloud 9 in the Upper Bracket Semifinals. They face NRG in the lower quarterfinals and have work left to do now.
