Rival NXT superstar hails Dominik Mysterio’s growth as veteran WWE star fears betrayal

Dominik Mysterio recently shocked the world when he defeated Wes Lee for the NXT North American Championship. No one saw it coming. With that victory, now three of the members of Judgment Day are holding gold, with Finn Balor possibly taking the World Heavyweight title off of Seth “Freakin” Rollins.

Judgment Day has taken over the WWE, with Dominik and Rhea making their trips to RAW, NXT, and Smackdown in the same week and beating up many superstars, including Liv and Seth. So, following his devastating loss at the hands of the Latino Heat, what had Wes Lee say about him?

Wes Lee praises Dominik Mysterio’s impressive growth in WWE

Wes Lee reigned over NXT for a very long time, with his reign going for a massive 269-day record. After losing to Dominik Mysterio, Lee stated that he was proud of how far he had come. Just a few years ago, Dominik was getting beaten up at the hands of Brock Lesnar, Seth “Freakin” Rollins, and Roman Reigns. Last year at Clash at the Castle, Dominik turned heel by attacking his father, Rey, and Rated-R Superstar, Edge.

Since joining Judgment Day, Dominik has become a heat magnet and has found a character to work with. Dominik and his father, Rey, made history by becoming the first-ever Father-Son tag team to win Tag Team Championships. WWE pulled off such a major upset and made him the NXT North American Champion. There is no doubt that the title has gotten more screen time than ever before, and, sad but true, Dirty Dom makes the title feel much more relevant.

Veteran WWE star fears betrayal as Mysterio’s title reign unfolds

As per Sportskeeda WrestleBinge, Bill Apter joined Dr. Chris Featherstone to speak about Damian Priest’s current run and possible future scenarios. Chris asked Bill, “What do you make of Dominik Mysterio questioning Rhea Ripley on NXT today? Could the end be nigh for Judgment Day? Is it too soon? Bill replied, “I think there’s gonna be trouble in Judgment Day that Damian Priest might cash in on Dominik down the line. I think so.”

He added, “Maybe not going after the World title or the Universal title, but maybe the NXT North American Title.” He also said there are chances that Damian may cash his Money in the Bank briefcase on Jey Uso after he has been beaten up by Roman Reigns.

It will be interesting to see how Damian Priest cashes in his contract and which title he chooses. For the best, let’s hope that Judgment Day remains on the same page.
