Robert Lewandowski Transfer Rumors: Polish Striker Prioritizing Bayern Contract Keeping Barcelona as Backup Option
Bayern Munich ace striker Robert Lewandowski has been rumored to be linked with a transfer to FC Barcelona next season. In a sensational twist of events, the forward could be heading to Camp Nou.
Lewandowski and Bayern have been a thorn in Barcelona’s side for the past few years in the Champions League. But Barca seems to be closing in on grabbing the forward as his contract with Bayern runs out.
Sports journalist Fabrizio Romano, who has been one of the most reliable news sources in the world of soccer world has recently tweeted that Barcelona is closely monitoring the Lewandowski situation. His tweet reads:
Barcelona are still working on Lewandowski deal, in talks with his agent since February. Plan is clear: no opening bid yet, first step has to be Lewa's agent to discuss with Bayern about the contract. 🇵🇱 #FCB

Romano claims that Barcelona has been in contact with Lewandowski’s agent since February but has not placed a bid yet. The Catalan club has approached the player through their agent as opposed to contacting the club directly.
Barcelona has been on a downward spiral in recent years. With Lionel Messi having to leave the club, the Blaugrana were in financial and structural disarray. With a mismanaged board and massive transfer fees for mediocre players, the glory days of Barcelona were well behind them.
But ever since Barca appointed the legendary Xavi as their coach, things started going well. If the Robert Lewandowski transfer does go through, Barcelona will be adding some serious fire and star power to their roster.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Lewandowski himself is aware of Barca’s interest. But staying at Bayern is his current top priority until or unless the situation changes very rapidly.
