The drama of the Washington Commander’s auction saga continues as multibillionaire Amazon owner Jeff Bezos withdraws from the race to own the franchise.
The commanders were up for sale for quite a long time when the owner, Dan Snyder, was scandalized by workplace hostility. Since then, speculation about potential buyers has been circulating among the fans, and the business tycoons are eyeing a profitable opportunity.
The auction got heated when the founder of Amazon, the third richest man in the world, bid for the franchise’s ownership, but there is another new candidate who is posing with the most possibility.
Who is the latest auction buyer in Washington?
The Houston Rockets owner, multibillionaire Tilman Fertitta, came up as the newest competitor for the team’s ownership. The development came to light after Bezos took a downturn in the race.
Fertitta is an entrepreneur in the entertainment and hospitality industries in the USA, owning Landry’s, Inc., and the Rockets. Previously, in 1980, the 65-year-old developed his first business project.
Tilman bid $5.5 billion for the Commanders, while Dan projected $7 billion from the potential buyers. Should Tilman purchase the Commanders, he would acquire three different franchises, including NBA and NHL.
Dan gained notoriety for his financial scandal, along with workplace hostility and sexual harassment. His poor leadership ran the franchise astray, as the team never made it past the divisional playoff round.

The Commanders completed last season at the bottom of the NFC East with an 8-8 record, and the fans had enough of his reign.
Next to the Rockets owner, Josh Harris, the Philadelphia 76ers owner is running for the ownership. However, there has been no indication of Snyder’s willingness to sell the team as of yet.
