The Westbrook Academy is an educational institution founded by NBA star Russell Westbrook. It aims to provide quality education and support to middle and high school students in the South Los Angeles area.
On Monday, Nuggets star Russell Westbrook opened the “expanded” Westbrook Academy in Los Angeles, which can now help over 400 students. Partnering with L.A. Promise, Westbrook wants to give kids more chances to learn. The event also had Westbrook’s family and school authorities.
He shared a heartfelt message with Good Day LA about his goal for education. He said, “There’s different parts of education that we’ve attacked here. Mental health is a huge part of our operation, our family services is a huge part of our operation. I just want to be able to bring something where kids come to school, enjoy, and have a fun and healthy learning environment”
NBA Personalities react to Russell Westbrook’s Instagram post
Westbrook got many messages from NBA players, including Steph Curry from the Golden State Warriors, after he shared his celebration of the newly “expanded” Westbrook Academy in Los Angeles on Instagram.
Stephen Curry commented, “Congrats @russwest44 @ninawestbrook and the whole family!” But the praise didn’t stop there.
Norman Powell wrote, “That’s so tough brotha 🔥🔥. Congrats. Changing lives forever”
Victor Oladipo said, “You different bro 🔥🙌”
