Ryan Garcia’s father clarifies rehydration clause in Tank Davis fight

There are only 10 days left until the superfight between Ryan Garcia and Gervonta Davis. Ahead of the highly anticipated boxing match, Ryan Garcia’s father has addressed some issues about the fight’s controversial hydration policy.

Garcia vs. Gervonta’s eagerly awaited boxing match will eventually go place on April 22 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas after nearly being called off multiple times. Not just the boxers, but even their coaches, sparring partners, and fathers are expressing their opinions and making predictions about the grand battle.

What does Ryan Garcia’s father think about the fight?

Henry Garcia, Ryan Garcia’s father, recently took part in an interview with Fight Hub TV where he discussed a variety of topics related to the fight in Las Vegas. Henry made a bold assumption about who would prevail in the battle.

“I have a strong prediction that Ryan’s going to knock him out. I don’t have a prediction exactly, but I would say the eighth round sounds good to me. Ryan is going to stop Tank in the eighth round. ” said Henry.

The Californian boxing promoter also gave specifics on why he believed his son had a greater chance of overcoming Tank. KingRy’s main inspiration to become a professional fighter is Henry, who has been serving as Ryan’s trainer as well.

“He’s got a tremendous amount of power and his pedigree. A lot of people think of him as a social media star, but he started at age seven. Gervonta will need a catcher’s mask against Ryan Garcia.” Henry added.

Former WBC interim lightweight champion Ryan (23-0, 19 KOs) is still undefeated in his professional career. The boxer, who was born in Victorville, California, defeated both Emmanuel Tagoe (32-1-1) and Javier Fortuna (37-3-1) in 2022. Even though there has been a problem with the rehydration clause, Ryan won’t be impacted in any way, claims Garcia Senior.

“I’ve never seen my son gain more than ten pounds, give or take. It’s never been an issue for him. I want him to gain at least nine pounds or ten pounds. We’re all monitoring everything. It’s not going to be a factor for him. In fact, it’s going to be good for him. ” Henry continued.
