Ryan Reynolds the 46 years old, Canadian-American actor hilariously shared his emotion to former Manchester United goal keeper, Ben Foster as the duo talked about Wrexham’s thrilling win against Notts County, in which the famous goalkeeper was the hero.
He called the player “son of a b****” after the game. The Canadian’s remark was made in jest as he hugged Foster, who had just recently signed for the non-league team. Reynolds and his colleague co-owner Rob McElhenney have poured millions of pounds into the Welsh club, and bringing in the former Manchester United goalkeeper is one of his most significant coups.
The former England goalkeeper, who came out of retirement at the age of 40 to be a part of this incredible Wrexham team, delivered a moment he defined as the greatest of his brilliant career that even Hollywood would definitely fail to replicate.
How did the game go?
After going down to John Bostock’s magnificent free-kick on the stroke of half-time, Wrexham seized the lead in the championship race in a dramatic way.
With 20 minutes remaining, Paul Mullin and Jacob Mendy put the Dragons up 2-1 before Kyle Cameron equalized for County. Wrexham’s winner was ultimately scored by Elliot Lee in the 78th minute, sending the Racecourse Ground into overwhelming joy.
With his team ahead 3-2 and poised to reclaim first place in the National League, Notts County was granted a penalty in the sixth and last minute of stoppage time. A point was enough to retain them in the first place and as favorites to win the only automatic promotion position.

As County replacement Cedwyn Scott stepped up and blasted a hard penalty kick, Foster dived to his right to punch the ball away and ignited a wild Racecourse Ground. Reynolds and McElhenney were in tears as a result of it.
The win gives them a three-point advantage at the top of the National League with one games remaining. If all goes well, the team will be back in league football and play in League Two.
What did Ryan Reynolds say to Ben Foster?
In the tunnel, the pair were talking as emotions were flying. Reynolds made his feelings known when he said, “You son of a b****. What was that about? You’re too old for that!”
The 40-year-old Ben Foster also quipped back, “I got cramp as I got up.”

Reynolds was further seen saying, “That was just bananas. That was the most dramatic thing I’ve ever seen in my life. I couldn’t watch – and then I turned just in time to see you. I’m never going to be the same again.”
Reynolds and Rob McElhenney completed a $2.5 million buyout of Wrexham in November 2020. They have since taken the English fifth-tier club to great heights and potentially back to league football.
The FX documentary âWelcome To Wrexhamâ provided the club with worldwide publicity. Overall, both Reynolds and McElhenney have managed to create a great story with a great club. They have won the hearts of thousands and are widely beloved everywhere.
Wrexham will now travel to Barnet on Saturday to continue their title challenge.
