The Seattle Seahawks are reportedly considering a trade to acquire star running back Josh Jacobs from the Las Vegas Raiders in a bid to bolster their roster ahead of the upcoming NFL season.
Jacobs was selected by the Raiders as the 24th overall pick in the 2019 NFL draft. The veteran RB’s tenure with the team was notable as he ensured two Pro Bowl nods and was named to the Pro Football Writers of America all-rookie team in 2019.
Raiders Josh Jacobs might end up in Seattle Seahawks
Reportedly, Seattle can consider offering their third-round pick and fifth-round pick via the Pittsburgh Steelers in the upcoming draft in exchange for the Las Vegas Raiders RB Josh Jacobs as he was tagged with a non-exclusive tag and the Raiders would also be benefitted from the deal as they will lose the RB in free agency next year in exchange of nothing.
Moreover, the 25-year-old was named First Team All-Pro for his incredible 1,652 rushing yards, 12 rushing touchdowns, 400 receiving yards, and 2,053 all-purpose yards.
The addition of him may bolster Seattle’s roster as ESPN’s Mike Clay also ranked Jacob as No.2 among all free agents running back citing “Jacobs picked a perfect time for a breakout season, turning offseason reports that he’d be demoted to a committee role into league-high showings in touches (393) and scrimmage yards (2,053).”
“The 2019 first-round pick was exceptional as a rusher (340 attempts, 1,653 yards, and 12 touchdowns) and receiver (53 receptions and 400 yards). He has finished all four pro seasons no lower than 15th at running back in rushing yards and was top 15 in receiving yards in 2021 and 2022”, he further added.
As of now, neither the Seahawks nor the Raiders have officially confirmed any trade talks regarding Jacobs. With the NFL draft just around the corner, all eyes will be on the Seahawks as they continue to explore options to bolster their roster and make a push for the playoffs in the upcoming season.
If the trade were to come to fruition, Seahawks fans would be eager to see Jacobs donning the blue and green, and Raiders fans might lament the loss of one of their most exciting young players.
