Sean Strickland emerged as the victor against Israel Adesanya to become the UFC middleweight champion. Which was one of the biggest upsets in UFC history. Strickland’s excellent defense and consistent pressure is what turned him from an underdog to a champion.
‘Tarzan’ is also known for his absurd and hilarious opinions. Among the talks of a potential rematch between the two middleweights, Strickland has made another controversial and bold claim regarding Adesanya.
Strickland alleges mental challenges for Adesanya
In one of his YouTube videos, Strickland expressed that Izzy might need some help. According to the ‘Tarzan,’ he eventually felt bad after mocking Izzy, as he sees him as a retarded kid with a mental illness.
Strickland revealed that Izzy confronted the UFC middleweight champion about the comments of Strickland being Adesanya’s dog. Strickland said Adesanya after the fight confronted Sean and said he would never make of his family.
Strickland responded to this claim, expressing that he doesn’t even know Adesanya’s family. Izzy later clarified that he was referring to his dog when he said ‘Family.’ Strickland continued to say that mocking Adesanya is no longer funny, as he believes the former UFC middleweight champion might be suffering from mental illness. As usual, Strickland was quite straightforward with his statement and mentioned that insulting Adesanya multiple times isn’t as enjoyable as it used to be.
