Floyd Mayweather made his return inside the boxing ring yesterday as he took on John Gotti 3 for an exhibition bout at the FLA Live Arena in Sunrise, Florida. Money Mayweather was dominant throughout the five rounds and displayed his high-level boxing skills before the referee stopped the fight.
A former boxer vs the head of a long-standing crime family was expected to draw in a lot of attention. However, that wasn’t the headline from the exhibition bout as what happened next created all the noise on the internet.

Speaking about the exhibition bout, Floyd Mayweather was pretty much landing punches at will and was also attacking John Gotti with his trash talk. On the other hand, Gotti was trying to make life difficult for Mayweather by constantly clinching. Besides, John didn’t hold back any punches when it came to verbal barbs and as a result, referee Kenny Bayless was having a tough time managing the two boxers.
Bayless instructed Floyd and John on several occasions to stop their trash talk. However, the referee’s words didn’t seem to have any effect on them as they continued the verbal back and forth. This resulted in referee Kenny Bayless stopping the fight early in the sixth round. Surprisingly, John Gotti 3 went wild even after the referee’s stoppage and decided to attack Mayweather.
The combat sports athlete pushed the referee to the side and threw wild haymakers at the former world champion. And this led to a wild brawl inside the ring. As soon as Gotti threw the first couple of punches after the stoppage, Floyd’s security jumped in and it was absolute chaos inside the boxing ring as there were more than 20 people.

Meanwhile, Floyd Mayweather who didn’t take any damage throughout the entire evening was sitting at the top of the ropes and enjoying the entire brawl.

Floyd Mayweather talking trash throughout the five rounds didn’t sit well with John Gotti the third who is a mob gangster’s grandson and that seemed to be the biggest reason for the violent brawl inside the ring. The MMA fighter didn’t have any success during the exhibition bout but showed more intent while throwing punches after the stoppage.

In the end, it is needless to say that the event organizers should have ensured having security in place outside the ring. Because the boxers could have easily injured themselves during the brawl. Moreover, John Gotti the Third should get punished for his actions as it was unsportsmanlike of him to attack Floyd after the referee stopped the bout.
