Shaquille O’Neal’s NBA MVP choice may shift from Shai Gilgeous-Alexander to Victor Wembanyama after massive feat

Shaquille O’Neal is widely regarded as one of the greatest basketball players of all time. Apart from being a 15-time NBA All-Star and 4-time NBA Champion, Shaq has been one of the best analysts in the game, as he has always been spot-on with his takes.

Recently, the Hall of Famer has some praise for the 7-feet-4-inches tall French sensation, Victor Wembanyama, who recently had a career best game against the New York Knicks.

Shaq may choose Wembanyama over Gilgeous-Alexander for NBA MVP

Earlier in January, on the NBA on TNT pre-game show, Shaq told about how he sees Shai Gilgeous-Alexander as the most valuable player of the season over Luka Doncic. He said, “Luka is a fabulous player but this kid? He plays the right way [and] gets his teammates involved, I’m taking him right now. He’s a hell of a player right now.”

However, after the San Antonio Spurs forward Victor Wembanyama scored 40 points and 20 rebounds in the game against the Knicks, Shaq uploaded a story acknowledging the Alien’s stellar achievement, as he was the first player since Shaq himself to have achieved those magical numbers.

We all know that Shaq is as humble as they come, as even though he praised Wemby’s amazing feat, the 3-time NBA Finals MVP was on a totally different stratosphere, when compared to the Spurs Superstar.

Shaquille O’Neal was on a different level than Victor Wembanyama

Shaquille O’Neal’s stats prove his legacy of being one of the GOATs of basketball. He has scored a mammoth 28596 points in 1207 games, averaging 23.7 points, 10.9 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game and is the 9th highest point scorer of all time in the NBA, as he was recently passed by Kevin Durant.

Shaq recently posted another insane stat on his Instagram story, about how back in the year 1996, he was already named among the 50 greatest players of history, just after playing 4 seasons in the NBA.

Shaq has definitely seen the spark in Victor Wembanyama of being a generational talent, as he has praised the 20-year-old superstar many times before. Only time can tell if Wemby can prove to be an MVP in the future, as he is seen as a torchbearer of Shaq’s legacy.
