Shedeur Sanders mocks Arizona students after thrilling win
The Buffaloes’ quarterback was instrumental in Colorado’s 27-24 victory on Saturday, that took place at Tempe, Arizona’s Mountain America Stadium. Following an Arizona State Sun Devils touchdown that knotted the score at 24 with less than a minute left in the game, the Buffaloes started a crucial drive from their own 25-yard line. This drive was key in Colorado’s victory since it placed them in a position to score the match-winning goal in the dying seconds of the game.
Sanders launched a 43-yard bomb to Buffaloes wide receiver Javon Antonio on the initial play of the drive. Sanders followed up with Antonio for a 7-yard throw to put Colorado in a better spot for a field goal. Overall, Sanders completed 26 of 42 passes for 239 yards in the air, two touchdowns, and no interceptions.
As shown, Alejandro Mata of the Buffaloes kicked a 43-yard field goal to win the game, and Sanders immediately headed for the Arizona State student section. In front of the opposing supporters, he boldly flaunted his diamond-encrusted Audemar Piguet watch, as if to emphasize that the moment in Arizona was all his.
According to Sanders, the Arizona State, “left too much time on the clock” and that this allowed Colorado to win in the waning seconds. He added, “We went crazy mode.”
Fans bash Shedeur Sanders’ actions against Arizona State
Shedeur Sanders, the Colorado Buffaloes’ starting quarterback, appears to have come under fire from fans for his approach towards Arizona State supporters right after the win.
In response to his action, fans said he is “acting like he just won the Super Bowl”.
The NFL and collegiate football community has presented more than its fair share of drama in addition to the off-the-field spectacle engulfing coach Deion Sanders’ team.
His shade just did not settle well amongst the crowd due to which he received constant backlash from fans who labeled him as a “classless thug”.
This sudden shift in paradigm of fan attention on Shedeur Sanders seems to be triggered by his antics and not his on-field performances. Whatever the reason, the Buffaloes’ recent dramatically more challenging schedule would probably correspond with any shift in Sanders’ playing style.
