Bayless also said that Luka’s constant complaints could be causing the referees to not give him good calls. This could be true since Luka sometimes gets caught out of defense while arguing.
Luka Doncic seemingly tries to avoid penalties while complaining about refs
During the game, Luka Doncic was visibly upset with several calls made by the referees. His frustration reached a peak late in the fourth quarter when he scored a basket and drew a whistle. Then after the game, he didn’t hold back his feelings in the interview.
However, it seemed like he tried to be careful with his words to avoid a big fine. He said he wasn’t going to say much, but added, “Everybody saw the game, so, they know what happened.”
Doncic knows the league might fine him if he speaks out too much, but it was clear that he felt the referees didn’t make fair calls.
