Soccer transfer rumor: Chelsea owner meets Nasser Al-Khelaifi to discuss Neymar’s PSG exit

PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi has met the American businessman and Chelsea owner Todd Boehly with a proposal to offload Neymar to Stamford Bridge as the Brazilian is high on the list of players who could end up leaving PSG.

Nasser Al-Khelaifi is the Chairman and CEO of Qatar Sports Investments (QSI) which owns Paris Saint-Germain Football Club since 2011 under his leadership, the club has experienced a significant rise in profile and success.

PSG has won multiple Ligue 1 titles, as well as several domestic cups, and has become a regular participant in the UEFA Champions League upon the arrival of the Qatari Millionaire.

Al-Khelaifi played a key role in bringing in Neymar from Barcelona back in 2017 with a world record transfer fee of $222 million as they looked to establish themselves as one of the leading football clubs in Europe while making a statement.

Since joining PSG, Neymar has been the most influential player for the team, helping them to reach the UEFA Champions League final in 2020.

However, the Brazilian’s dispute with the Squad members and team management, especially with the PSG Advisor Lucas Compos made his position at risk to the club.

Chelsea are monitoring the Neymar situation for a long time as the London club has a strong desire to sign the superstar and Nasser Al-Khelaifi now looking to sell their no. 10 to Todd Boehly’s Chelsea.

Signing superstars with loads of money at the transfer market is nothing serious to the American as he loved to invest heavily in his squad and signing Neymar would definitely bring a new dimension to his team.

Boehly has only one intention since his takeover from Roman Abrahamovic and that is signing players and spending big in the transfer market as he believed Premier League should learn from American sports.

“Ultimately I hope the Premier League takes a little bit of a lesson from American sports. We’re thinking we could do a north versus south All-Star game for the Premier League, for whatever the pyramid needed quite easily.”- said Boehly in September.

“Everyone likes the idea of more revenue for the league. I think there’s a real cultural aspect, I think evolution will come.”- the American Croesus further added.

It will only be a matter of time before Neymar leaves the French capital, however, where will the Brazilian superstar go would be a topic to discuss but if Todd Boehly wants the Brazilian, he has every possibility to succeed.
