Since the regular NBA season, the Phoenix Suns haven’t lived up to expectations. Their “Big Three” experiment, featuring Kevin Durant, has clearly turned into a disappointment. Aside from the expectations, the team is struggling in the playoff race while standing 10th in the Western Conference.
That’s why, with KD nearing retirement age, it’s very natural for him to seek a team strong enough to be a title contender. Reports are also suggesting he might have his sights set on a $5.7 billion franchise—the Houston Rockets.
Last month, the Suns were talking to the Warriors about trading Kevin Durant. KD was shocked and quickly put an end to the idea.
Meanwhile, a new trade rumor has been making headlines recently. Sports Illustrated reporter Chris Mannix thinks Kevin Durant wants to join the Houston Rockets.

Mannix said, “It’s no secret that Phoenix will split with Kevin Durant this summer. Durant has one year left on his contract and even approaching 37 still has incredibly high value.”
He added, “I think—and this is just my opinion—that Durant wants to wind up in Houston. I think if the Rockets wanted Durant before the trade deadline, it would have happened.”
It may not sound official, but the reporter’s idea seems valid. Kevin Durant’s performance has consistently been exceptional. Plus, his recent play helped the Suns win against the Cavaliers last night, who have almost been perfect this season.
Kevin Durant sets new NBA milestone in Cavs-Suns match
Kevin Durant has etched his name in NBA history once again during the Phoenix Suns’ 123-112 win over the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Scoring an impressive 42 points, KD became only the fourth player in NBA history to record multiple 40-point games in their 17th season or later. This milestone helped him join legends like LeBron James, Kobe Bryant, and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.

With this win, the Suns moved up to 10th place in the standings and are on a three-game winning streak. They could make it to the playoffs despite their earlier struggles if they keep playing like this.
