Steelers CB Patrick Peterson anticipating fun contest against Ravens “little munchkin” WR Zay Flowers

The rivalry between the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Baltimore Ravens is considered one of the biggest rivalries in the NFL. Their matchups have long been the most anticipated NFL games. In this regular season, both teams are going to face each other once again on October 08.

Recently, the Steelers’ new cornerback Patrick Peterson was asked about his views on this highly anticipated game. Peterson shared that he is looking forward to playing against Zay Flowers. He praised Flowers but also made a somewhat backhanded remark about him.

Steelers CB looking forward to Flowers contest

Patrick Peterson is a veteran cornerback and new to the Steelers-Ravens rivalry. Therefore, he didn’t shy away from making a blunt remark about Zay Flowers.

First, Peterson praised Flowers’ qualities, describing him as shifty, very fast, and versatile in running different plays, including screens, reverses, and deep routes.

“He’s very shifty, very, very fast. He can get behind the defense. He’s kind of like the guy that can do it all for (them), run the screens, run the reverses, and still also run the big post as well,” Peterson said.

But then he called Zay Flowers ‘a little munchkin’ which is quite controversial.

“So it’s going to be fun trying to keep our eye on that fast, little munchkin there.”

This nickname could be seen as a playful or possibly belittling comment as Zay Flowers is 5-foot-10, 182-pound.

However, Flowers has already proved that he’s bigger than his physique with his commendable stats. So far, he has led the Ravens in targets (29), receptions (24), and receiving yards (244). But the reason why Peterson made this comment, playfully or mockingly, remains unknown.
