Stephen A. Smith goes off on Molly Qerim for being “cheap”
American sports anchor Molly Qerim has established herself as a popular TV personality. However, in a recent video, on ESPN’s First Take, host Molly Qerim was called ‘cheap’ by Steven A. Smith and Shannon Sharpe for revealing that she did not have an HBO subscription.
On Monday’s edition of First Take on ESPN, the 39-year-old explained, “Shannon, so many people hit me up after you said you wanted to be on Naked and Afraid, and they thought I was lying that I didn’t know what Naked and Afraid is. But it’s on HBO and I don’t have HBO.”
Sharpe immediately fired back saying she needed to sign up, and not be ‘cheap’. Smith too exclaimed, “Stop being cheap!” Qerim explained that she had subscriptions for many online streaming services like Netflix, Hulu, and YouTube TV leaving her asking, “Now I have to pay for Showtime and HBO?”
Stephen A Smith seemed shocked upon hearing her remark and said to Molly, “This is your most embarrassing moment ever. National television host and she can’t afford HBO.” Sharpe agreed, “Be as cheap as you want to. Don’t be cheap to yourself. Don’t do that. That’s very unbecoming. I’m so disappointed in you.”
Molly replied saying that the ‘Naked and Afraid’ show better be good or else she will be mad. Many fans supported Molly and said that she was right. Just because one has money it doesn’t mean they have to subscribe to multiple online streaming services.
