Stephen A Smith Explains Why Bronny James Doesn’t Belong in the NBA

ESPN analyst Stephen A. Smith has ignited a heated debate with his recent comments on LeBron James’ son, Bronny James. He suggested that the young basketball player is not yet ready for the NBA. However, Bronny is no stranger to such criticism, having endured it since his draft earlier this season.

On November 24, Stephen A. Smith shared a video on his YouTube channel where he broke down Bronny James’ career so far. Smith highlighted Bronny’s struggles, starting with his time at Sierra Canyon High School.

Despite being a McDonald’s All-American and ranked 19th in the 2023 class, his stats were underwhelming—averaging 13.8 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 2.7 assists.

Smith said, “Not to be redundant, but I think it’s necessary to be that way, Bronny James doesn’t belong in the NBA. Not yet. Some people say never. I don’t believe that. I think the kid has a chance… but he’s not ready yet.”

Smith argued further, citing his struggles in the G-League and NBA. Averaging just 0.7 points per game and shooting 16.7%, Smith believes Bronny has potential but isn’t prepared for the professional level yet.

Fans agree with Stephen A Smith’s take on Bronny James

Fans took to social media to express their agreement with Smith’s assessment. Many echoed Smith’s sentiment that Bronny James needs more time to develop his skills before he can compete at the highest level.
