Stephen Curry Gets Emotional After Warriors Swap Wiggins for Jimmy Butler

The Warriors traded Andrew Wiggins, Dennis Schroder, Kyle Anderson, and a protected first-round pick to the Heat for Jimmy Butler. Butler wanted to leave Miami and go anywhere except Memphis, and the Warriors were excited to see how he would work with Stephen Curry and Draymond Green because of his scoring ability.

But, this new change seems a bit tough for Stephen Curry. Andrew Wiggins was a close friend, and they played together for several seasons. Recently, Curry talked about how emotional it was to see Wiggins traded to the Miami Heat for Jimmy Butler.

After the tough loss to the Jazz, Curry talked about the Warriors’ new addition, Jimmy Butler. He said, “Who really knows what the story is? We expect to have a motivated, committed Jimmy that’s ready to impact our team for the better.”

He added, “Gotta work out the kinks of what it looks like, but I’m excited to get to work and kind of feed off the energy of something new.”

Although Curry said that he was excited, it was clear he missed his old teammates. The trade is meant to help the Warriors get back into title contention, and fans are looking forward to it.

After the loss, the Warriors have a 25-25 record and are in 10th place in the West. Curry is hopeful that Butler can bring the spark they need to turn things around.

Stephen Curry shares his conversation with Jimmy Butler

Stephen Curry recently revealed details of his conversation with newly acquired teammate Jimmy Butler following the blockbuster trade with the Miami Heat. Curry shared that he reached out to Butler during halftime of the Warriors’ game against the Utah Jazz, welcoming him to the team.

“I texted him at halftime… We gotta hit the ground running. I don’t know when we’ll see him in person, but excited to get started,” Curry told reporters.

When the reporter asked Curry if Jimmy texted back, Curry said, “It was a very pleasant message. Ready to go.” This shows that both of them are excited to start their journey together in the new situation.
