Stephen Curry May Leave Golden State Warriors If Things Don’t Go His Way

As the NBA season winds down after the Olympics, Stephen Curry and the Warriors find themselves in an important phase. With Klay Thompson now a Maverick, the Warriors are fighting to stay competitive. Curry is trying to attract star players, but some believe he could leave the franchise sooner than expected if things don’t work out.

Steph Curry must find a replacement All-Star for Klay Thompson if he wants to remain in the title hunt. Athlon Sports reports that Curry, who is under contract with the Warriors until the 2026–27 season, may decide to depart if the team does not bring a new elite talent soon.

The Warriors are determined to keep the NBA’s clutch player and working hard to ensure he stays with the franchise. Brett Siegel of ClutchPoints shared, “The organization is prepared to do what it takes to remain competitive as Curry’s legendary career nears its conclusion, while still keeping an open mind regarding their long-term strategy.”

According to ESPN’s Brian Windhorst, Curry is reportedly waiting for the Warriors’ leadership to sign another All-Star. There’s even talk that Curry is trying to recruit Paul George personally before he commits to the Philadelphia 76ers.

Marcus Thompson of The Athletic reported on August 30 that Curry made a significant push to get nine-time All-Star Paul George to join the team. However, he failed to recruit, and George ultimately chose a $212 million, four-year deal with the Philadelphia 76ers.
