Everybody has a post-retirement plan after they get done with their current job or service, and it’s no different in the world of sports. Many people tend to change their respective fields and pursue something different—something that they’ve always been passionate about but never had the time or chance to do.
Things are no different when it comes to sports, and sometimes their paths cross unexpectedly. The four-time NBA champion Stephen Curry recently talked about his retirement plan and his interests after he’s done with basketball, which resemble the interests of the Jets’ quarterback, Aaron Rodgers.
Stephen Curry expresses a desire to jump into politics post-retirement
The 10x All-Star Stephen Curry was seen on CBS Mornings for his new children’s book promotion, “I Am Extraordinary.” During the interview, Jericka Duncan, the national correspondent, asked him about his retirement plans and if he’d be interested in joining politics.
“Steph Curry for president?” asked Jericka, to which Curry responded, “Maybe I have an interest in leveraging every part of my influence for good in the way that I can, so if that’s the way to do it, then—I’m not going to say the presidency, but if politics is a way that you can create meaningful change, or if there’s another way outside of politics.”
After Curry’s statement about having a political career after retirement, Aaron Rodgers was seen with Robert Kennedy, and according to recent reports, Kennedy reached out to Rodgers for his company in the upcoming election campaign as his vice president.
Stephen Curry is ready to resume Warriors activities
The Dubs nation updated about Curry’s injury after re-evaluation, and the news is good for the Warriors’ fans. Curry was cleared to play basketball again on Tuesday after suffering from a right ankle sprain during a match-up against the Chicago Bulls last Tuesday. Curry is fit to join the Dubs for practice this Friday in LA.
Curry is yet to go through another examination after Friday’s workout, and if everything turns out well, we might see Curry back in action on Saturday night against LeBron and the Los Angeles Lakers.
The 15-year veteran turns 36 this Thursday, and with just 18 games remaining before the postseason, Curry making a return can help the Dubs win and avoid the play-in tournament. After a recent altercation between his fellow teammates, Curry’s return can guide the team and bring a positive synergy like before.
