Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr recently shared his thoughts on the team’s current roster, expressing confidence in their shooting depth despite the absence of star player Klay Thompson. With Thompson now with the Dallas Mavericks, many expected the Warriors to struggle, but Kerr seems to have faith in his new roster.
Unfortunately, the 34-year-old’s departure this year shocked the NBA, leaving many to wonder how Curry would adjust without his partner. While coach Steve Kerr knows he can’t recreate the “Splash Brothers,” he’s made changes to the roster because he’s confident that it will give the team more shooting depth despite Klay’s absence.
In a recent press release, Steve Kerr expressed his confidence, saying, “What I like about this team, even though we lost Klay Thompson, we have more shooting depth. We have more guys that can step in and make threes one night to the next.”
Klay Thompson and Stephen Curry, known as the “Splash Brothers,” have changed the NBA with their incredible three-point shooting. Their on-court chemistry made them one of basketball’s most iconic duos, leading the Warriors to four championships (2015, 2017, 2018, and 2022).
Steve Kerr shakes up Warriors starting lineup ahead of second preseason game
The Golden State Warriors will play their second preseason game in the NBA on Wednesday night, after their nail-biting victory against the Los Angeles Clippers in Hawaii.
Coach Steve Kerr changed the starting lineup for this game in Sacramento. The starting lineup consisted of Stephen Curry, Brandin Podziemski, Jonathan Kuhinga, Draymond Green, and Kevon Looney.
Kerr feels confident in the team’s overall performance due to Podziemski’s pinpoint 3-point shooting and Looney’s tenacious defense in the paint, a change from the starting lineup from the previous game.
