Following their 113-125 loss to the Phoenix Suns in their previous match, the defending champion Golden State Warriors have extended their losing streak to three games. Four-time NBA champion Stephen Curry returned to the game for the first time after his shoulder injury.
The Warriors couldn’t make up the deficit they conceded in the first half, trailing by 14 points. The 34-year-old point guard gave it his all but couldn’t save his team in the end. He scored 24 points with three assists and only one rebound in his comeback game.
What did Warriors coach Steve Kerr say?
As painful as the Warriors’ loss was, head coach Steve Kerr didn’t hold back in soothing himself. “I take responsibility for that. I clearly didn’t have our guys ready to play. That’s my fault,” he said. “I’ve gotta do a better job of giving them the slap in the face that Phoenix gave us in the first quarter.”

“A team’s got a bunch of starters out, and then all the guys that normally don’t play much, they can’t wait to get out there,” he said as his players returned from absence. “These are all NBA players. These guys are all great players. This is the league. There are no easy days in the league.”
Whatever the case, Kerr accepted full responsibility, and the Warriors owed it to themselves to perform better, at least at home. The Warriors had a chance to take the seventh seed, which the suns currently hold with a 21-21 record.
On the other hand, the Warriors are just behind them with a 20-21 record, a slight one-game advantage. However, with the return of their NBA Finals MVP, Warriors fans will be hoping for a playoff spot after winning the title last year.
In 27 games this season, Curry has averaged 29.7 points per game, 6.4 rebounds, and 6.7 assists. Do you think Stephen Curry will hold their flag high through the rest of the season?
