Nate Diaz made headlines recently when he defended his brother Nick’s honor at a press conference for the upcoming Jake vs. Nate fight.
The incident occurred when Derek from Betr Media, one of Paul’s employees, used the opportunity to call out Nick Diaz while also expressing his desire to compete on the undercard.
However, Nate was quick to clap back and put Derek in his place, reminding him to show some respect and stay in his lane. Fans and media outlets alike praised Diaz for his response, highlighting his loyalty to his family and his ability to stand up for what he deems as right.

He said: “Nate, I’m actually a boxer myself and I’ve been trying to get into this undercard. I am just wondering if you think I could fight your brother Nick? If he’s anything like you, I think I’d beat his fu*kin a*s.”
The former TUF winner didn’t find the incident amusing and swiftly called out Paul’s employee for disrespecting his brother. He emphasized that his team was present at the press conference and cautioned the employee about making similar comments in the future.
“Brother, what are you just gonna walk around the streets or some sh*t? You know all my homeboys see you right now? That was stupid…Yeah, that was stupid…Hey Derek from Betr Media, stupid a*s motherf***er.”
Thankfully, the situation did not escalate any further, and the press conference was able to proceed with the next question.
Nate Diaz talks about fighting with Jake Paul
At a recent press conference, Nate shed light on his decision to take on Jake Paul in a boxing match instead of renewing his contract with the UFC after fulfilling his contractual obligations.
Diaz expressed his admiration for Paul’s accomplishments in the sport of boxing, both in and out of the ring, and commended him for his promotional skills.
Nate further elaborated that he had been wanting to showcase his boxing abilities for some time and saw this as an opportunity to do so outside of the UFC.
The Stockton native said:
“I’ve been trying to get out of the UFC for a long time cause I knew what I was worth, what fighters are worth, and what I should do. It was a long road…He [Jake Paul] was doing the biggest and the best things out.. and I was glad I had a worthy opponent to make an attack on as soon as I got out.”
