Tank Dell’s Risky Touchdown Ends in Hospitalization for Severe Knee Injury

Houston Texans wide receiver Tank Dell was taken to the hospital after hurting his knee badly during a great touchdown catch in the Week 16 game against the Kansas City Chiefs on Saturday night. The Texans lost the game 27-19, but Tank Dell’s injury became the main highlight instead of the score.

With six catches for 98 yards and a touchdown, Tank Dell was having a great game until he injured his knee while catching a pass from quarterback C.J. Stroud. Teammate Jared Wayne accidentally hit his leg in the third quarter, causing Dell to grab his knee in pain.

Team trainers rushed to help him while his teammates watched nervously. NFL Insider Ian Rapoport reported that doctors are still checking his injury, but it looks like Dell dislocated his kneecap. Doctors have not yet granted surgery, despite its potential necessity.

Texans head coach provides update on Tank Dell’s injury

The medical staff stabilized Tank Dell’s leg with a vacuum splint and transported him to the University of Kansas Medical Center for further evaluation. Head coach DeMeco Ryans mentioned that the team will receive an update on Dell’s condition tomorrow.

He said, “We’ll get an update (Monday) on him. All of our thoughts and prayers are with Tank right now. You see what he means to our entire team. It hurts to see him go down like that. He was having a fantastic game.”
