Taylor Swift traveled from Tokyo, Japan to Las Vegas to watch her boyfriend Travis Kelce play in the Super Bowl LVIII and win the Lombardi Trophy. However, the Super Bowl celebrations turned into a tragedy during the celebratory parade.
A mass shooting started on Wednesday during the Chiefs parade which resulted in the death of a 44-year-old woman Lisa Lopez-Galvan and 22 other people were injured. In the aftermath, the American royal couple rallied to support the victims, extending their heartfelt condolences and offering generous donations.
Taylor Swift donates $100K to Lisa Lopez’s family
Taylor Swift recently donated $100,000 to a GoFundMe account which was started for the family of Lisa Lopez-Galvan. She was a radio host who died during the Super Bowl parade shooting.
The purpose of this fund was âto benefit the family of Lisa Lopez-Galvan,” according to the GoFundMe page, and meant to “provide vital financial support to her family as they process this unthinkable tragedy.”
Two donations of $50,000 were posted under the name of Taylor Swift. On Friday, her representative also confirmed that Taylor made this donation for the family of Lisa.
With the donations, the Karma singer also sent a heartfelt note which read, “Sending my deepest sympathies and condolences in the wake of your devastating loss. With love, Taylor Swift.â
After the Super Bowl, Taylor Swift went to Australia and is continuing her Eras Tour there. But before leaving she made sure to offer support for the victims of this heart-wrenching incident.
Travis Kelce comes forward to support injured kids
The Chiefs tight end and boyfriend of Taylor Swift, Travis Kelce followed his girlfriend and also donated for the injured children. It was reported that out of 22 injured people, nine were kids and two were daughters of Lisa Lopez-Galvanâs cousin.
Recently, Travis Kelce made a donation of $100,000 for the two girls who were shot in the legs during the Super Bowl parade shooting. Like Taylor Swift, his donations for the Reyes’ family were also made in two installments of $50k each.
The donations came from his two charities, 87 and Running. Combined Taylor and Travis made $200,000 donation for the victims of this tragic incident.
The girls are still in the Childrenâs Mercy Hospital and recovering. Patrick Mahomes and his wife Brittany Mahomes also visited them. The couple has been raising funds for the injured victims to which the Chiefs and its players made huge contributions. Patrick and his wife also donated $50k for the girls.
The Kansas City Chiefs players are doing a lot for the victims of the Super Bowl Parade shooting. Meanwhile, the investigation is also continuing against the people responsible for this tragic incident.
