New Orleans Saints Foster Moreau is now playing his fifth season in the league. As the 2022 NFL season ended, Moreau had some tough news awaiting him as the player was diagnosed with cancer. But it couldn’t stop the TE from making his return to the gridiron.
Even though Foster Moreau resiliently recovered from the battle and made a comeback, the Saints recent matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars saw their tight end leave the field in low spirits.
Foster Moreau blew Saints’ chance to tie vs Jaguars
The Jacksonville Jaguars defeated the New Orleans Saints with a 31–24 score in their most recent game on Thursday as Saints quarterback, Derek Carr threw tight end Foster Moreau in the end zone, but he ended up missing an opportunity.
Foster found himself heavily guilty for the loss as he was unable to secure a touchdown reception, which would have given the Saints a lead. This led to him breaking down feeling heavily responsible, although that isn’t entirely it.
Although, fingers cannot be fully pointed at the tight end as the Saints as a whole are to blame for the team’s defeat. As they came together to the edge, the Saints lacked harmony. The New Orleans team was behind by a significant score and was having trouble getting into an offensive flow.
This left the Saints being behind by 31-24 within the 4th quarter. The team had the potential to take the lead or tie the game at a crucial juncture with a 2-point convert. Unfortunately, they were stopped on fourth down with just 21 seconds remaining after failing to get past the Jaguars 6-yard line.
Alvin Kamara guided the Saints in both rushing and receiving yards with 62 and 91, correspondingly, whereas Foster Moreau earned 33 receiving yards on three receptions and four targets.
Overall, New Orleans Saints declined below a 500 win-loss ratio for the first time this season with substantial offensive struggles. They lagged behind by 15 points, but they rallied to tie the game at 24-24.
What caused TE Foster Moreau to once quit football?
Tight end Foster Moreau took a brief pause in NFL due to a sudden diagnosis of a rare cancer called nodular lymphocyte-predominant Hodgkin lymphoma (NLPHL). But with adequate medical procedure, it was possible to make recovery which is what Moreau did.
Moreau’s medical procedure comprised a lengthy six to eight-hour intravenous infusion, succeeded by multiple weeks of medication. It was administered through either oral intake or injections in his abdominal region. Ironically enough, he wrapped up his treatment the day before he secured a formal deal with the New Orleans Saints.
As the tweet mentions, Foster “had his entire hometown of New Orleans rallying behind him.” with his tough journey. Needless to say, it is not just the Saints fans but the entire NFL community who lauded Foster Moreau’s brave comeback to the gridiron.
