Former two-weight UFC Champion Henry Cejudo has given an honest insight on Conor McGregor’s comeback fight! Cejudo thinks that a fight between Conor McGregor and Tony “El Cucuy” Ferguson is a “winnable” fight for Conor as he has been on a losing streak, winning just 1 out of his last 4 fights!
Cejudo chimed in on McGregor’s come-back fight on his YouTube show, “The Triple C & Schmo Show”. As he discussed potential opponents for McGregor, the name of another declining lightweight contender was brought into the mix! El Cucuy himself, Tony Ferguson.
Ferguson was until very recently, one of the most coveted lightweight fighters in the MMA world. But ever since his interim title loss to Justin Gaethje, he has not been able to win a fight. Ferguson has lost three in a row against Charles Oliveira, Beneil Dariush, and Micheal Chandler.
It is a fight that the MMA community wants to see, just like Henry Cejudo. Cejudo’s exact comments were:
Cejudo explained that Conor cannot keep fighting all these elite-level fighters, because he will end up losing those fights and might even get hurt in the process. Cejudo’s analysis comes from the hindsight of Conor brutally losing twice to Dustin Poirier in the span of just one year!
In his latest fight, Conor snapped his shin bone in half! Leaving the once enigmatic star yelling profanities at Dustin and his wife only to be stretchered out of the arena. This has left the fans and MMA professionals doubting Conor McGregor’s future in the sport.
The Tony Ferguson fight will be the perfect tune-up fight for Conor if he is to come back to the octagon sometime in the near future. Any other notable top-level fighter would be too much for Conor to handle now that he has lost his edge in and outside the octagon.
