“That what I want”: Jared Cannonier ready for title shot vs Israel Adesanya at all cost after thumping victory vs Marvin Vettori on UFC Vegas 75

The Middleweight title picture in the UFC has been rather confusing for a while now. For a significantly long time, the top 10 fighters were seemingly battling it out among themselves. Now an old contender has again made a strong case for a shot at the gold.

Not a lot of MMA analysts thought Jared would be able to stop ‘The Italian Dream’ but ‘Killa Gorilla’ ended up winning the bout by unanimous decision. It was an incredible night for Jared Cannonier in the UFC Fight Night as he dominated Marvin Vettori in the octagon.

Does Jared Cannonier deserve a title shot?

Middleweight fighter Jared Cannonier has had a successful UFC career thus far since making his debut in 2015, at UFC Fight Night 59. Jared won back-to-back fights against Cyril Asker and Ion Cutelaba while losing to Shawn Jordan.

“The Killa Gorilla” lost against Glover Teixeira and Jan Bachowicz in consecutive bouts. This made Cannonier switch weight classes in 2018 which turned out to be a turning point in his career as he finally found consistency and success as a middleweight fighter.

The veteran MMA fighter defeated David Branch in UFC 230 to start his middleweight career. Cannonier upset the renowned Anderson Silva at UFC 237 by using his excellent striking abilities. After defeating Silva, Cannonier went on to triumph over Jack Hermansson, Kelvin Gastelum, and Derek Brunson.

The 39-year-old fighter finally received a title opportunity in UFC 276 but lost to Israel Adesanya. As he’s currently on a two-fight win streak, Jared might get another chance considering The Last Stylebender doesn’t presently have a matching set.
