“There were a whole lot of emotions” – Bronny James Shares His Emotional Journey After Cardiac Arrest

Bronny James, LeBron James’ son and a Lakers legend, is now living a healthier and less stressful life. But things were different for him last year. Despite facing some challenges, Bronny managed to secure the 55th overall pick in the draft.

This made him and his dad the first father-son duo in NBA history, which is pretty cool. Looking back on this special milestone, Bronny talked about how the last year has influenced his health and perspective on life.

Speaking to Men’s Health, he recalled the day of the cardiac arrest, which happened during a workout at the University of Southern California. He had just finished his smoothie and was doing running drills when he suddenly blacked out.

Bronny James said. “At the point when it happened, there were a whole lot of categories that what had happened could fall under, so yeah. There were a whole lot of emotions.” Bronny James experienced a cardiac arrest due to a congenital heart defect, which led to a long recovery process and medical evaluations.

Despite the scare, he has been dedicated to rebuilding his strength and confidence. “My days aren’t normal anymore,” he admitted. “I still feel like I’m getting back, I’m getting back to where I was.”

LeBron and Savannah share their story about Bronny James’ cardiac arrest

They spoke candidly about the terrifying moment when Bronny James suffered a cardiac arrest during a workout at the University of Southern California. “No parent ever likes to imagine something bad happening to their kids,” LeBron said in the series. “When something traumatic like that happens, it’s like… S***, things to put in perspective.”

Savannah tearfully added, “It was about us supporting each other and being super grateful for the outcome.” She expressed gratitude for the coaching and medical staff who acted quickly to save Bronny’s life
