CM Punk has always been one of the most talked about wrestlers on the planet regardless of the fact he’s been wrestling in the ring or not. He is a very dividing personality who is not afraid to speak his mind and has certainly made a lot of enemies throughout his career.
He received the Iron Mike Mazurki Award for his great achievements both in and out of the ring. He was scheduled and announced to receive the award going as far as May. He also gave a 45-minute speech where he responded to criticism and gained the respect of elders in the business.
CM Punk responds to recent criticism
CM Punk has been subject to criticism ever since he made his return to AEW and has had his fair share of altercations with the locker room. In his speech for receiving the Iron Mike Mazurki Award, he said: “When people tell me that they don’t like me or that the internet is mad at me, I just chuckle because Roddy Piper liked me. Dusty Rhodes liked me and Harley Race liked me. And that means more than anything else in the world because these legends put their stamp on me before anyone else did. It gave me the confidence and it gave me the ability to succeed.”

He named a number of other legends like Eddie Guerrero who helped him throughout his career and shared many other stories from the humble beginnings to the peak of his career. Punk also made it known how he’s wrestling for the people who support him and are inspired which means a lot to him.
CM Punk reportedly suspended by AEW
Anything involving CM Punk isn’t short of drama as it is rumored that he was suspended due to an altercation backstage before his match at All In. According to sources and people present at the venue where the altercation took place, he choked Jack Perry due to a comment he made about CM Punk and they were separated by Samoa Joe who had a match with Punk.
This isn’t the first time CM Punk has been suspended from AEW as he also had issues with The Elite which led to a fight in the locker room after All Out forcing him to relinquish his AEW Championship belt. It is doubtful whether he’d appear on Saturday Night Collision or at All Out on Sunday.
CM Punk has a reputation for being problematic but it doesn’t change the fact that he is a big draw and the record-breaking All In selling out Wembley Stadium doesn’t happen without him. Now that he has been suspended again, do you think he has a future in AEW? Let us know what you think in the comments.
