Aaron Rodgers moved to the New York Jets a month ago. It’s just been a month and his impact on the team is already evident. An NFL insider recently shared the details on how the quarterback’s presence has impacted the Jets teammates.
How did he perform last season?
In the 2022 season, Aaron gave a brilliant performance, throwing for 4,299 yards, 48 touchdowns, and only five interceptions. This remarkable display led him to secure his third NFL MVP award. In 2021, he recorded 4,115 passing yards, 37 touchdowns, and four interceptions, and became the fourth MVP.
But in 2022 with Green Bay Packers his statistics were not that satisfactory because of many reasons. He threw for 3,695 yards, 26 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions. The team ended the season with a record of 8-9. Now, he will play for Jets for the upcoming season.
How does Aaron Rodgers improve the Jets’ roster?
An NFL insider recently shared insights on how Aaron Rodgers is positively influencing the Jets’ roster. During an appearance on Sportskeeda’s ‘BallFather’ podcast, the insider revealed a conversation he had with one of the Jets’ PR representatives. The representative expressed amazement at the impact the quarterback has had on the team’s locker room in a short span of less than two weeks.
According to the Jets’ personnel, Rodgers’s presence has instilled a newfound sense of confidence among the players. They observe his work ethic and approach during practice sessions, and it has inspired them to follow suit.
“I was on the phone the other day with one of the Jets’ PR guys. He goes, you won’t believe [what] he said. This guy’s only been in the building less than two weeks and he sees the confidence in the rooms now. People see him, they watch how he practices.”
A remarkable example of this influence is the change in eating habits within the team. The insider mentioned that the quarterback starts his day with egg whites, which is not a common practice among the Jets. However, since Rodgers adopted this healthy habit, many players have started doing the same.
“According to my guys at the Jets, he goes, you know, Aaron’s coming in early and getting, you know, egg whites. He goes, nobody in the building is eating egg whites. Now everybody’s eating egg whites because Aaron is doing it.”
The insider emphasized that such leadership and influence from Rodgers can be instrumental in achieving success.
“And I said, You know what? That’s how you win because that guy knows how to win.”
By observing and mirroring Rodgers, the Jets’ players are embracing his winning approach, which bodes well for the team’s future prospects.
