Thunderstorms Push Back Steelers VS Cowboys Kickoff, Official Warned Fans

The Dallas Cowboys and Pittsburgh Steelers game, originally scheduled for 8:20 p.m. ET on Sunday, was abruptly postponed because of intense thunderstorms. The kickoff was postponed for safety concerns as storms rolled across the region.

Steelers vs Cowboys was originally scheduled to begin at 8:50 p.m. ET but was delayed by 30 minutes due to continuing lightning. The delay was extended further, and the game finally started at 9:45 p.m., after an hour and 25 minutes of waiting. 

Officials from the stadium told fans to stay in the hallway while they got new information about the situation and the new start time. The official message read, “Weather update: Fans in attendance at tonight’s game, please take cover in the concourses and in the FedEx Great Hall.”

The players from both teams waited in their locker rooms for the game to start. They wore their pads and gear. When they went back to the field, they had 20 minutes to warm up.

Steelers vs Cowboys Latest Standings

Even after losing to the Colts in Week 4, the Steelers still hold the top spot in AFC North with a 3-1 record, closely followed by the Ravens with a 3-2 record. Their next games against Baltimore are critical to winning the division.

Meanwhile, the Cowboys are currently 2-2, trailing the NFC East-leading Commanders, who are 4-1. Dallas’s chances of entering the playoffs would depend on their ability to win their next game and move up to second place in the division.
