The bromance or brotherhood among NFL players is not uncommon, but it feels uncanny every time, such as when the goat, Tom Brady, sides with his longtime rival, Aaron Rodgers.
The Green Bay Packers veteran quarterback has finally come to a crossroads in his professional career, and he needs time to decide whether he retires or continues to play. Presumably, social media named this a four-day darkness retreat and made fun of the legendary quarterback.
However, the former New England Patriots legend, Tom Brady, has defended his once-fellow rival and supported the QB’s decision.
What did Tom Brady say regarding Aaron Rodgers?
On his podcast, Let’s Go, the seven-time Super Bowl champion has spoken out on Aaron’s sabbatical and given his full support to the future Hall of Famer.
“Everyone’s got their unique way to process the season. It’s very intense for all of us and everyone gets to choose what they want to do,” Brady said. “But certainly from the standpoint of him leaving the game the way that he’s playing, he broke his thumb this year and still played tremendous.”
After 23 consecutive seasons and numerous amazing feats and accolades, the 45-year-old has finally retired. His final season with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers was also unremarkable, like Aaron’s with the Packers.
“He’s an incredible player and everyone has different processes they go through. And you know what, I think we all need to get off our phones a little bit more. I think we all need to get away from the TV a little bit more,” the legend fascinated regarding Rodgers’ sabbatical. “I think we all need a little more nature and a little more silence and a little more peace. And however, he’s going about it, good for him.”
After Brady’s divorce from his wife, Gisele Bundchen, he couldn’t take his mind off the heartbreak and decided to come back from retirement. If anyone could realize where A-Rod is going, it would be Tom Brady.
On the question of retirement, the former professional hoped Rodgers wouldn’t retire yet. Tom believes that, like the majority of football fans, it will be a day of mourning for the league.
As football fans, we all want to cherish our childhood idols and wish they would continue their careers for a lifetime, as it would be a blessing for us to enjoy the magnificence of the greats.
However, the reality is often disappointing; legends retire, and we must appreciate their efforts to entertain us in the meantime. They deserve the least amount of gratitude.
